Firefox fanatics: “something BIG is coming your way next week”. On Android

Mozilla Firefox was for quite some time while the best alternative to Microsoft's once-ubiquitous Internet Explorer. But the times have longed passed, and today Google's Chrome is leading the assault your IE fortress. Nevertheless, Firefox still has a massive user base but a dedicated community behind it, that has worked hard within the recent months to make the ground that Firefox lost to Chrome.


Today, the fiercest battles are fought inside the mobile front, where Chrome acquired a solid foothold as soon as it became available on ICS devices. On top of that, Firefox has located some worthy opponents in mobile- only browsers, encompassng Dolphin, which is certainly apparently, the highest performing HTML5 mobile browser.


Although Firefox is late with the mobile browser game, Mozilla do not quit without a fight. And apparently, something BIG (capitalization not mine) is coming soon as soon as in the near future for Firefox on Android. Stream tweet from Mozilla itself:

Fast, smart, safe. Basically all we wish given by a browser. Mozilla might be preparing a major update to Firefox for Android, or they could surprise us with something brand spanking new. We can't help discover Google I/O is additionally occurring in the near future. Could the two events be related in any aspect?


We'll just have to wait and see.
