Lightbox closing its doors as the team joins Facebook

Appears like the Facebook train keeps on on rolling, with todays news the fact that Lightbox team will certainly be joining the social networking. For Lightbox users, the tip is sadly nigh when the service will probably be shutting down completely from June 15. Existing users can continue to use facilities until that moment arrives, but no more new signups may possibly be accepted. 


This isn't an acquisition, not like the $1 billion buyout submitted for Instagram. As such, none of the user data stored by Lightbox will become the property of Facebook. The staff will probably be the only part transitioning, and as such closing the doors for all time. Until June 15, your photos may well be exported, along with the Android application has been taken out of Google Play. Additionally, tasks related to the code will probably be open-sourced in the coming weeks.
